This is in part as a result of people not understanding the right way to work with it (pay attention: it's in reality not a fuel additive), and partially simply because the filler caps for diesel and AdBlue are usually directly close to one another on the automobile.

So, what's the matter with having AdBlue in a diesel tank? Seeing that AdBlue is predominantly deionised water, it is actually as bad as pouring water in to your tank. Diesel and water really do not mix in the slightest and trying to run a diesel car on water isn't going to work. Also, the urea is seriously corrosive to the fuel system pipes and seals and is prone to crystallisation, clogging injectors and filters.

If in case you put AdBlue in your fuel tank remove it right away. And obviously take care not to start up the car - not even to shift it into a parking bay. If you did start the car you may almost certainly have to have the complete fuel system cleaned and fuel filters changed.
